What's The Deal?

When I was a kid I wanted to have a great adventure. I didn't want to be a princess or have my own pony farm, I wanted to roam the world with a backpack meeting new and exciting people and having Indiana Jones style brushes with death and disaster. At that time I thought that thirteen was quite old and that, when I reached teen-hood, I could start my life. When thirteen came and went, eighteen became the new goal. John Lennon said that "life is what happens when we're making other plans" and, as I grew up trying to figure out where I was going, I began who I am.

When I started this blog back in April of 2011 the very first thing I wrote was "I'm 27". That might not seem like an earth shattering first line, but it summed up where I was in my life. Don't get me wrong, twenty seven is not old, but I was staring in the face of thirty and, even after some very cool jobs, still didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I had headed back to college after a seven year "break" and then found myself living in a 1997 Jetta. I started The Tuckerbag blog as a way to reach out to other vehicle dwellers.

I graduated college in May 2012 with a BA in Sociology and minors in Education and English. After taking some time in my home state of New Hampshire to figure out the next step, the Jetta didn't pass inspection which pushed me in a totally different direction. Now I'm roaming the US figuring that I'll know the end of the line when I see it.

I could name more, but you'll just have to look around. Feel free to email me with questions at thetuckerbag@gmail.com
